Our Commitment to Clean Craft

Every piece we make begins with a choice.
Not just the metal, the gauge, the finish, but how we make it. At LITTIONARY, we believe the care we put into a piece extends beyond the jewelry itself. It reaches into our studio, our air, and the world outside our windows.
When we personalize your jewelry, we use precision stylus engraving—a process that works through meticulous pressure, not heat or chemicals. Because we don't burn the metal, there are no fumes released into our studio, no fine particulates in the air, and no byproducts we'd rather not think about.
It's a quieter way to work. And it's the one we chose on purpose.
We chose it because of what it lets us preserve. Clean air in the studio. A workspace that remains as clear at the end of the day as it was at the beginning. A pace that allows us to pay attention. It feels right for the kind of studio we want to run and the kind of jewelry we want to send into the world, and so we keep choosing it, for every piece, every letter, every day.
Working in small batches already means we move slowly and intentionally. Our engraving process reflects that same philosophy. Every custom layout is designed individually, and we remain at the bench through the entire process. We don't simply press a button and walk away; we watch every line as it is pressed into the metal, stepping in to adjust along the way. It demands our constant presence and attention. A mark made with this much care is a mark that holds.
We don't have a corporate sustainability department or a portfolio of carbon-offset badges to display on our packaging. What we have instead is thoughtfulness at every step. Accountability that lives at the bench, not in a department. A commitment to making beautiful things — heirlooms — without leaving a mess behind.
That feels like enough to be proud of. Learn more about our engraving process →
